Meet Doc Ann

Jennifer Ann Lentini, M.D. was born and raised in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.  She studied Psychology at Furman University.  As an undergraduate she worked as an EMT on an ambulance and later as a Residence Counselor at a children’s hospital.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Subsequently she did research at the Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory and was coauthor of several papers on neurotransmitters, pain pathways, and animal behavior.

She was accepted to medical school in Charleston, SC and graduated with an M.D.  She completed an internship and then two years of training in child and adolescent psychiatry. She occasionally worked moonlighting in a local ER.

Dr. Lentini decided to practice integrative medicine, a background of traditional allopathic medicine blended with emphasized preventative techniques and wellness treatments.  She hopes that in doing this more people can: avoid the pitfalls of “life-style” diseases that result in numerous hospitalizations, experience the benefits of a healthy mind and body, and attain increased not only quantity but also quality of life. Dr. Lentini is a GP (general practictioner) with two years special training in working with children. Dr. Lentini enjoys skiing, reading, writing, horseback riding, motorcycling and ballroom dance.  She lives and works in the Greater St. Louis area of Southwest Illinois with her husband and two children.
